Implants

A missing tooth could be a great hustle. It can make everything so hard for you. If you are someone with a missing tooth, at Anthony G. Corbo D.D.S., we have the solution for that. It's none other than the best and the permanent solution, i.e., dental implants.

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a screw-like thing made of titanium that performs the function of a tooth root. It can be used to support a single artificial tooth or used as an anchor for bridges or dentures.

Who is a candidate for dental implants?

If you are missing one or more teeth, you may be a candidate for dental implants. Dr. Corbo will do a thorough evaluation of the health of your gums and the amount of bone available to support the implant and let you know if an implant is an option for you.

How is the dental implant procedure done?

The first stage begins with placing the dental implant in your jawbone beneath the gum tissue. The implant must then be allowed to heal for approximately three months while the surrounding bone fuses to the implant's titanium surface. This provides for a very sturdy, stable foundation for attaching an artificial tooth or teeth to the implant.

The second stage involves taking an impression, or mold, of your teeth and the implant. This impression is used to make a restoration that can be made to fit in your mouth. Once it is ready, we will attach it to the implant and anchor it in place.

You can expect some mild to moderate soreness for about a day or two after the initial surgery, and then it will feel back to normal. Once your final restoration is attached to the implant, it will feel much like your natural teeth!

Who performs the dental implant procedure?

At Anthony G. Corbo D.D.S., we have our experienced dentist Dr. Corbo, who has extensive training in both placing dental implants and restoring dental implants with artificial tooth replacements. He has done this procedure on many patients and always had successful outcomes. He, with the help of his brilliant team, will help restore your missing tooth.
